What do skyscrapers and cloud formations have in common? Quite simply: what you make of them yourself. Fountains become your stage, sidewalks your playground and parks your individual creative laboratory. Discover with us and the ASPHALTWELTEN app how much playground there is in your surroundings and how much creativity there is in you.
We were proud to invite you to several editions of our ASPHALT LAB format in 2024 and 2025.
During the labs we tried out various instructions with the help of our ASPHALTWELTEN APP, which connected us and you with ourself, other people, our body and our environment. Riverbanks will again become your stage, sidewalks turn into our playground and parks become our individual creative laboratory.
During the labs, we dedicated ourselves to various prompts that moved us through the public space in and around the venues where the labs will take place.

ASPHALT LABs 2025
ASPHALT LAB at Japanisches Palais Dresden
Date: October 11, 2025, from 10 to 12 a.m.
Venue: Japanisches Palais, Palaisplatz 11, 01097 Dresden
During the two-hour workshop at the Japanisches Palais, we explored various stimuli that guided us through the public space surrounding the palace in Dresden and opened up new perspectives on familiar places.
ASPHALT LAB in Schirgiswalde-Kirschau
Date: June 28, 2025; 10 a.m. – 1 p.m.
Venue: TanzART Atelier, Friesenstraße 31, 02681, Schirgiswalde-Kirschau
We are very pleased to be able to make up for the canceled ASPHALT LAB from 2024 on June 28, 2025 in Kirschau. The lab was led by us and took place with the support of TanzART Kirschau.
ASPHALT LAB as part of the “Werkschau – Made in Saxony”
Date: April 2 until September 4, 2025
Venue: former machine fabric, Gießerstraße 5, 09130 Chemnitz
We were delighted that our ASPHALTWELTEN video installation was selected for the “Werkschau – Made in Saxony” 2025 and was on display in the Capital of Culture Chemnitz during the complete duration of the exhibition.
The “Werkschau – Made in Saxony” is the showcase for Saxony’s cultural and creative industries. As a platform, it contributes to visibility and sensitizes visitors to the industry.
ASPHALT LAB at the Palucca Hochschule für Tanz Dresden
Date: February 1, 2025 from 1:45 to 3:15 p.m.
Venue: inside the main building Palucca Hochschule für Tanz, Basteiplatz 4, 01277 Dresden
We presented an ASPHALT LAB at Palucca Hochschule für Tanz Dresden for the students on campus on February 1st, 2025 on the occasion of the university’s 100th anniversary as part of the open day “Palucca bewegt”.
The ASPHALT LAB was free of charge. A previous registration was not necessary.

ASPHALT LABs 2024
ASPHALT LAB as part of “Ein ganzer Tag Benefiz” at WUK Theaterquartier Halle
Date: March 23, 2024; 2 to 3:30 p.m.
Meeting point: WUK Theaterquartier, Holzplatz 7a, Halle (Saale)
The lab was led by Cindy Hammer and Susan Schubert and took place in collaboration with the WUK Theaterquartier Halle as part of the event “Ein ganzer Tag Benefiz”. During the workshop, we devoted ourselves to various prompts that moved us through the public space around the WUK Theater Quartier.
ASPHALT LAB as part of the Grünauer Kultursommer 2024
Date: August 15, 2024; 2 p.m. until 5 p.m.
Meeting point: 2 p.m. at Nebenan, Alte Salzstraße 53, 04209 Leipzig
The lab was led by Momo F. Tanner, Rika Yotsumoto, Cindy Hammer and Susan Schubert and took place with the support of LOFFT – DAS THEATER.
Admission was free für everyone.
ASPHALT LAB with dancers from and in cooperation with the Heinrich Schütz Conservatory Dresden
Date: September 5 to 7, 2024
Meeting point: Kultukraftwerk Mitte, Kraftwerk Mitte 1-32, 01067 Dresden
The lab was led by Joao Pedro De Paula, Esther Schachenmayr, Kirill Berezovsky, Cindy Hammer and Susan Schubert and took place with dancers from and in cooperation with the Heinrich Schütz Conservatory Dresden. During the lab, a performance was be developed that was shown on September 7 as part of the free Kraftwerk Mitte festival.

ASPHALT LAB at Telux Hafenstube Weißwasser in Weißwasser/Oberlausitz

Location: in and around the Telux Hafenstube, Straße der Einheit 20, 02943 Weißwasser/Oberlausitz
During the workshop we dedicated ourselves to various prompts that moved us through the public space around the TELUX area.
The workshop was led by Esther Schachenmayr, Cindy Hammer und Susan Schubert and took place with the support of the Hafenstube TELUX.
Admission was free and open.
ASPHALT LAB in Neukieritzsch
Date: September 30, 2024
Location: Park Arena, Badstraße 6, 04575 Neukieritzsch
During the workshop we dedicated ourselves to various prompts that moved us through the space of the Park Arena Neukieritzsch.
The workshop was led by Susan Schubert and Cindy Hammer and took place as part of the programme of the 19. Saxon Children and Youth dance fest in Neukieritzsch.
