ASPHALT
WELTEN
PART 2
>> Asphaltwelten by go plastic
In 2020/21, the go plastic company deals with shelter & life on the street. In three different project formats, the series “Asphaltwelten” deals with thematic aspects, theses and values, as well as society’s view of life outside, its challenges, shortcomings and needs.
In these three parts, the company collaborates with various partners in different artistic constellations and creates interdisciplinary performance formats in and for public space that look at the theme from different perspectives.
The trilogy about life without a roof over one’s head will challenge, open up, make it possible to experience and have an impact.
The Dresden-based company go plastic works as a freelance group on performance projects with a focus on dance for theatre spaces and in this project, for the first time on this scale, for public spaces. The artistic constellations vary according to the concept and always enable us to open up new areas.
>> Asphaltwelten Part 2
Between 1 and 18 April 2021, the go plastic collective will embark on a research trip for the second part of the series. In the cities of Dresden, Leipzig, Budapest, Bratislava, Vienna, Prague, Usti n.l. and Rehlovice, artistic materials will be designed, tested and publicly shared in the form of short residencies together with local artists. Together, a performance score will be set in the form of cinematic interventions in public space, connecting all the cities along the way. Accompanied by the soundtrack by Johannes Till, viewers can follow the output online on the platforms zoom and instagram.
Thematically, the second part deals with life outside: what environment do we seek and create for ourselves? Nomadism as a way of (over)living: opening up and occupying new, half-finished, broken, ruined, free, preserved spaces. Always on the move, always looking for the “right” shelter, always temporary.
